the elites...
I am very excited about the Elite series guitars. While I enjoy the process of working with customers to create their perfect guitar, the Elite is my chance to follow my muse. Each run will be unique and will feature embellishments that will be available only on the guitar as I design it.
Dream Series Elite For details and availability of the Dream Series please contact dreamguitars.com. Current price: $CALL. Reserve one now. There is only one more available from the first series. Number 10 will be available exclusively from me, if I part with it at all. The Black Pearl The Black Pearl is available as a Model E, F or Model E 12-Fret. I have a limited number of very special African Blackwood sets in rare two-piece backs of very high quality. It will be paired with extremely fine Swiss spruce. This spruce is grown very high and very cold. The cutters take the wood only on the winter solstice, probably at midnight with appropriate dancing maidens in attendance. At least that's something like the sales pitch as it was given to me. The wood is lovely and has all the qualities we so love: high strength to weight, quick and pleasing tap tone, clear coloring, even grain spacing. It is beautifully cut. It will be adorned with one of Jimmi's custom rosettes and trimmed 45-style. The Black Pearl Elite
Price: $21,500. These special guitars are available exclusively from Kathy Wingert Guitars "This is a gorgeous guitar! I do not have time to write enough now to do it justice. My first impressions are that the woods are of the highest quality. I have never seen African Blackwood with such straight grain. It looks quartersawn. I did not know there were trees big enough for quartering. The Swiss Spruce is beautiful and shimmery with lace--and very even-grained. It is as consistent a top as I have seen. The black pearl inlay looks wonderful--traditional and modern at the same time. The rosette is stunning. It is obviously a Kathy Wingert guitar. I love your headstock design and the volute. The neck feels very comfortable and the frets are very fine. The sound is already wonderful, even after only 20 minutes of playing time. I would describe the tone as very pleasantly "crunchy," similar to some of Tommy Emmanuel's recent work. There is lots of sustain. And there is already a surprisingly warm and powerful bass."
